John Connolly .. The Black Angel

It is always good to meet up with fellow Irishman and friend John Connolly. Usually I get to meet him at a night signing and then we go out for dinner and drinks. At the end of said meeting John sneeks away and pays for it all. No Luck this time. Once again it was at Mysteries To Die For in Thousand Oaks.

This year John returns with the fifth Charlie Parker novel, The Black Angel.

This was an enjoyable signing, as always, but I promised not to repeat the funny comments that were made about, well, um, never mind. Hell, you've read these books, I don't want any strange things to happen to me, LOL. John did go into great detail about the research for this novel and you can read it here.

One of the benefits of having a signed book is the the special CD of music that comes with the novel. Very atmospheric, if you ask me. John also handed out postcards from Sedric and signed copies of the 3 additional novellas that didn't appear in last years Nocturnes.
John is busy writing his next book, which he says is for him. There will be another Charlie Parker book out after this one and it is tentatively titled The Revenger. (I think that is what he said)

Barry Eisler at Mysteries To Die For

Four years running I have had the good fortune to meet up with Barry Eisler . Once again it was at Mysteries To Die For in Thousand Oaks.

Once again Barry has outdone himself and written the best of the Rain series, Killing Rain

After his hour long presentation, I asked for a picture with Barry. My son Kasey, I think was a little spooked by the story line, hense the out of focus picture.

Barry has signed with Putnam for two more Rain books, so we have more to look forward to.....
