Will the Real Dirk Pitt Stand up!

Yes, I made it to the Clive Cussler signing last Wednesday at Borders in Westwood.

During his presentation Clive accidently introduced his new writing partner as Dirt Pitt instead of his son's name Dirk Cussler. The handoff in the writing of the series is in progress as the next book will be cowritten and then the following book will be all Dirk's.

When asked about the movie Sahara he mentioned "I don't know what book they are basing the movie on, surely not mine."

As for the real life NUMA, they are presently getting closer to finding John Paul Jones' ship. There is only 400 square miles of ocean to look for it in.

I'm surprised he signed at Borders and not at Shelly's store. Shelly must have been mighty pissed... though I'm sure he got Cussler to sign stock anyway.

How many people showed up besides you?

I'm not a big fan of Cussler's novels, but I like what he's doing with NUMA.

Hope you're feeling better now, by the way.

Lee,
There were about 40 people there, a rather small crowd compared to the 1200 that attended The Poison Pen signing.

Bill,
Thanks, I feeling better.
